Meet Mike, Our Burleson Manager

This month, we wanted to highlight one of our most beloved managers. Most people know the customer service team. But there’s always a man behind the curtain, running the day-to-day operations and keeping everything on track for both his employees and his customers. Meet Mike Brewer: the man, the myth, the manager at the Burleson location for Bonnie & Clyde’s Pools and Spas!

1) What got you started into the pool business?

I started here just as part-time help to make ends meet during the summer of 2004 and I loved it so much, I’ve been here ever since.

2) What do you look forward to the most at work?

I would have to say it’s meeting new people and helping them with whatever problems they may have. We are constantly getting new customers who come in frustrated at their pool or spa and we always make sure they leave happy and informed.

3) What are your hobbies, interests? Do you have any special talents?

My family and I really enjoy the outdoors, we love to camp and fish. I also love taking my Jeep out and hitting some off-road trails.

4) What is one fun fact about you that your co-workers or customers would be surprised to learn?

This is a tough one, my co-workers have known me a long time. I’m not sure I have any interests they don’t already know about.

5) What sets Bonnie & Clyde apart from big box stores and online retailers?

Quality. The quality of our customer service is unlike anything I receive from any other store I walk into. We really do pride ourselves on our customer service. It is the biggest reason we have the customer retention that we do. I want my customers to be happy with their purchases as well as having a simple and fun product to care for. Also, the quality and freshness of our chemicals are also a very important factor.

6) Do you have any future goals you’d like to see Bonnie & Clyde achieve?

I’m sure my goals are similar to the rest of our employees, to continue the growth of the company, and open more stores.

7) What’s special about working in a family-owned business?

The best thing would have to be the close bond we have with everyone who walks through our doors, whether it’s employees or customers.

8) Which do you personally like better: a swimming pool? Or a hot tub?

Hot tubs are great, especially as I continue to age, and things are a bit more stiff than they used to be. But, I believe a pool has much better entertainment value — especially with my children and their friends.

9) What’s your favorite memory (childhood or adulthood) with your family involving pools?

We’ve had some great get-togethers and birthday parties that revolve around a nice warm day in and out of the pool. Great food, great weather, great people, and a nice cool pool all make for a perfect Sunday afternoon.
