Summer and hot tubs have one big factor in common — heat. However, this doesn’t mean that you have to forgo your hot tub during the hottest months of the year. For over 40 years, Texans in the Metroplex have been trusting Bonnie & Clyde’s Pools and Spas for their pool and spa supplies and tips. There is no wrong time to head to your backyard and enjoy some hydrotherapy in your hot tub. And we know some tricks for how to use a hot tub in summer.
Tip #1 – Time of Day Is Important
Are you an early riser who loves to exercise? Set aside the first few minutes of your day to head to the hot tub for a relaxing massage. This is a great pre-workout routine. You get your blood flowing and your muscles relaxed and ready for some exercise.
Soaking when the sun has almost gone down is another great way to enjoy your hot tub without worrying about your body overheating from the outdoor heat as well. A sunset soak always promises to be very romantic. You and your special someone can enjoy an impromptu date night whenever you’d like.
Choosing the best time of day to soak during the summer is important. Early morning and just before dusk are definitely more enjoyable than attempting to get a hydrotherapy massage mid-day.
Tip #2 – Temperature Altering is Ideal
Another way to make your hot tub soaking more soothing during the summer is to alter the temperature of the hot tub. Rather than keep the temperature where you normally would, drop it to just below average body temperature. A 98 degree soak can still feel refreshing and relaxing.
You could also just turn the hot tub heater off completely. This is yet another way to get more use out of your hot tub in the Texas heat.
Tip #3 – Taking Time for Family Time is Irreplaceable
Spending special moments with your family is irreplaceable. Everyone can still gather in the hot tub — maybe shortly before bedtime — to enjoy each other’s company. You can sip some ice cold water to stay cool. Talk about all of the fun things your summer has already held and more exciting events that are yet to come. Making memories together in the hot tub is magnificent, 365 days a year.
Tip #4 – Treating Yourself to Isolation is In Order
Self care is important year-round too. Be sure to find some isolation time in the hot tub to shut out stress and just breathe. Ease your tight muscles and your tense mind with some me-time in your hot tub.
